Gerontology graduate co-founded PaterMater

6 Mar, 2018

Our gerontology graduate Mr. Ching-ho Chan jointly founded PaterMater, an elderly-focused social enterprise that supports sons and daughters to address needs of their ageing parents, with an investment analyst and a software engineer in 2016. Mr. Chan fully took the advantages of a gerontology graduate to establish this service delivery model with an innovative approach to fulfil the unmet aged care service needs in Hong Kong. PaterMater set a very good example of applying social innovation and social entrepreneurship in aged care, and won an award and was selected for various schemes from 2016 to 2017 as follows:
• 1st runner-up of Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge
• Selected team for ASTRI Innovation Runway (AIR) Programme
• Selected team for Accomplish Youth Entrepreneurship Dream
• Selected team for PolyU Micro Fund Scheme
