With the Faculty’s 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner (see recap below) in January setting the tone for a new semester/chapter, it’s an opportune time to reflect on our growth and explore our 2024 outlook! This year, we strive to continue strengthening our alumni and industry connections, thereby providing our students with unparalleled access to a remarkable network of expertise and leadership. A recent example is the student development workshops (see recap below) held annually for our undergraduate and pre-registration graduating classes, where they could gain invaluable career insights from local nursing and health care leaders. We also remain committed to fostering global partnerships. Alongside hosting exchange students from Mainland China and South Korea, we’ve also recently renewed and established new Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several partner institutions worldwide. This expansion of our global reach has opened doors to more student and staff scholarly exchanges and research collaborations, leading to more rewarding partnership experiences. To further enhance the School’s impact on the world stage, we’ve invited scholars and experts from reputable institutions in Canada and the UK as visiting professors and external reviewers. Their expertise and insights would greatly facilitate our strategic planning in research and education, particularly for the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2026. Through these collaborative efforts, we are confident in achieving new heights in our research outputs, competitive funding, evidence dissemination, and subsequently our global rankings. With these exciting prospects on the horizon, the year 2024 holds great promise for our recognition and growth. Let’s continue working together towards another year of remarkable achievements!
