Building on the success of the 8th Pan-Pacific Nursing Conference in March, the School has sustained its momentum in advancing excellence, collaboration and impact. Staff enrichment activities since April, including the Strategic Workshop in Curriculum, reaffirm our commitment to preparing future-ready nurse leaders while remaining at the forefront of healthcare technologies and innovations.
This dedication to empowering nurses resonates closely with the theme of International Nurses Day (IND) 2026. I am incredibly proud to see our community’s hard work recognised at the Teachers' and Students’ Award Presentation (TSA) Ceremony hosted by CUHK Medicine. Our students also garnered recognition on the wider stage for their impactful projects, including First Runner-up in the CUHK Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition and Second Prize in the 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. We also celebrate our Bachelor of Nursing alumna Ms. Carol TSE on the release of her new book, which chronicles her humanitarian relief work and reflects the caring spirit and mission of our School.
Our global reach also continues to expand. We have established partnership with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Australia, serving as a new clinical observership site. We also initiated engagements with Phenikaa University and VinUniversity in Vietnam, opening exciting new chapters of academic and research collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region.
Our School has a clear direction and leadership role in utilising AI for healthcare research and education. This commitment is echoed in my recent keynote presentation on AI in mental health care at Prince of Songkhla University in Thailand, and a feature on my related research in the CUHK Alumni Magazine (Issue 125) [Chinese only].
As we progress through this milestone 35th-anniversary year, I eagerly anticipate upcoming events like the PhD Summer Workshop and student summer exchanges. I hope our collective efforts and achievements will inspire you to continue walking alongside us on the exciting journey ahead.
