GIVING TO CUHK NURSING

The Faculty and our School recently announced this year’s winners of the Teacher of the Year Award (Undergraduate Programmes) and the Best Teacher Award (Postgraduate Programmes), respectively, with a total of 12 teachers from our School receiving the awards for their outstanding teaching performance in the preceding academic year of 2021/22. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to all the awardees for their passion and hard work in upholding educational excellence, and their remarkable achievements in overcoming teaching challenges during a period when we were hit hardest by the pandemic.

Our exceptional teaching team plays a pivotal role in sustaining the School’s leading position as the best nursing school in Asia. Our teachers showcased an impressive level of adaptability and resilience as they pivoted to innovative and tech-driven ways of teaching and learning. Aside from their success in helping students persevere through social restrictions, uncertainty and fears during the pandemic without compromising the quality of education, our teachers have also maintained high productivity with impactful research, contributing to our excellent global reputation and consistent strong performance in QS international rankings.

Our School considers growing talent a top priority with increased investments to foster staff’s academic development. More opportunities and resources are now available for building staff capacity and synergy such as new funding schemes, supporting reviews for grant applications and reinforcing impactful publications. Sponsorships for attending training, forums and conferences with sharing and connections with nursing scholars and leaders worldwide in addressing global healthcare needs and challenges have been offered. Engaging in these international exchanges and collaborations ultimately facilitates professional growth of individual staff, as well as advancement in innovative nursing education, research, and practice in local and global contexts.

Going forward, as a world-class nursing school, we shall continue our pursuit of excellence and impact through our education and research endeavours!

CUHK NURSING AGAIN TOPPING QS RANKINGS!

CUHK Nursing’s position as a world-leading nursing school has been reaffirmed by our commendable results in the newly released QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 (Nursing) – remaining the world’s 16th for the second year in a row while keeping the throne as the 1st in Asia and in Hong Kong for four years (2020–2023) and eight years (2016–2023), respectively.

We are both thankful and proud to be able to uphold the quality of our education and research on a par with international standards despite the pandemic-imposed challenges.
