Our School has been abuzz with a variety of networking and knowledge-exchange/transfer activities. Let’s delve into some exciting highlights: Our efforts to strengthen our global network and strategic partnerships have made remarkable progress. Recently, we hosted exchange students, scholars and delegates from nine partner institutions worldwide. Notably, esteemed scholars and researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, and Manchester Metropolitan University, delivered insightful guest lectures and lunch seminars, greatly enriching the learning experiences of our academic and research communities. Another highlight is the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Sharjah, a historic milestone marking the School’s first-ever partnership in the Middle East. Two projects led by our research teams recently made significant strides in knowledge transfer, effectively translating research and innovation into tangible benefits and outcomes. Locally, our Integrative Multimedia Programme for promoting south Asians’ Cancer screening upTake (IMPACT) project team celebrated the interim success of their training programme aimed at promoting accessible cervical cancer care among the local South Asian ethnic minorities, resulting in a remarkable increase in screening uptake (see recap >>here). On the global stage, our pioneering Pai.ACT™, an AI-driven ACT-based stepped mental healthcare app garnered international recognition at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (see recap >>here). These milestones reaffirm our School’s research excellence and strong capacity in initiating impactful research and pioneering innovative inventions to improve health at both local and global levels. Mark your calendar — the School is going to host the highly-anticipated Cancer Symposium on 22–24 May 2024. We eagerly await your participation! In which, we are committed to continue serving as a world-class hub to foster meaningful connections, high-level insights, and impactful collaborations to advance healthcare in Hong Kong and beyond.
