This May was an eventful month filled with celebrations! It all started with the International Nurses Day on 12 May, and the excitement has only continued to build with subsequent awards presentation and graduation ceremonies (see snapshots below) throughout the month. Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients, award winners and graduates! Despite the unprecedented impact of the pandemic, the students have shown remarkable passion and perseverance in their pursuit of knowledge and aptitude. Their outstanding academic accomplishments and dedication to serving the community during these challenging times are truly commendable and deserve recognition. The theme of this year’s International Nurses Day, 'Our Nurses, Our Future', strongly resonates with our School’s mission and commitment to fostering excellence in nursing education and nurturing students to become future nurse leaders. I’m glad that our students and graduates have emerged from the pandemic stronger than ever, upholding their well-earned reputation for excelling in education and research, while also making significant contributions to the profession and the wider community in the fight against the pandemic and every other aspect for health advancement. I’m confident that they will continue to embody and carry forward compassion, competence, and leadership that are the hallmarks of the nursing education we offer. Building upon our continued success in admitting the best students and producing high-achieving graduates, we are committed to further enriching our programmes and resources to sustain a stimulating and rewarding learning environment for our students. In addition to incentives like scholarships and awards, our strategic planning and investments prioritise improving student learning experience through evaluation, innovation and collaboration. As we enter the post-pandemic era, our students will have access to a plethora of international exchange and professional development opportunities, thus holistically preparing and empowering them for challenges ahead. I look forward to seeing our students develop and thrive as vital members of our nursing workforce, striving together to make our world more sustainable, healthier, and better!
