DIRECTOR'S
MESSAGE

Dear friends, colleagues, students, and alumni,

It’s graduation season! Excitement filled the air as our Class of 2022 graduates gathered on campus for two in-person graduation ceremonies in November – the 91st Congregation of CUHK and the Graduation Ceremony of Professional Diploma Programme in Advanced Nursing Practice!

While embarking on a new chapter can be nerve-racking, I’m confident that our new graduates are all set to thrive in their chosen careers. Over the years, CUHK Nursing graduates have been highly sought after in the field, and many have since developed incredibly successful careers. We have many graduates emerged as influential nurse leaders making significant contributions in clinical, educational and research fronts. Some have advanced to senior management positions like Cluster General Manager (Nursing), dedicated to achieving clinical excellence for the best patient outcomes; others have demonstrated teaching and research excellence in nurturing the next generation of nurses in universities or other higher education institutions. Regardless of their different roles, together they have impacted significantly on advancing evidence-based practice, advocating nursing innovations, delivering high-quality patient care, and shaping healthcare systems in Hong Kong and beyond.

The influence of our strong alumni network reaches far and wide, as reflected in their ever-expanding list of awards and accolades. Most recently, we have seven alumni receiving the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service 2022 for their significant contributions to the fight against COVID-19. Also, some alumni are listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists 2021 by Stanford University, validating the impact of their research on advancing the frontier of nursing knowledge.

I encourage our new graduates to tap into this extensive alumni network to get inspiration for professional and personal growth. Let’s work together to reach new heights for ourselves and the School!
