Amidst the bustling year-end graduation season, I take pride not only in the achievements of our fresh graduates but also the reaffirmation of our teaching and research excellence as reflected in recently released international rankings. Notably, nine of our teachers/researchers have been listed among the world’s top 2% scientists for 2022 by Stanford University; and our School has achieved the outstanding feat of being ranked 1st in Asia and 2nd globally in ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023. The excellent scores we have attained across multiple GRAS performance indicators, particularly in research quality and impact, serve as a testament to our commitment to broadening the reach and accessibility of our cutting-edge research. The recent launch of "Pai.ACT” app (see recap below), developed by our research team led by Prof. Connie CHONG, exemplifies our strong capacity for bringing innovation into fruition and delivering tangible benefits. Global engagement remains a top priority for extending the impacts of our research and education on the global stage. Recent highlights include the long-awaited return of in-person outbound student exchange, alongside the visit of a Tongji University delegation, which have fostered invaluable knowledge-exchange and collaborative opportunities. Our extensive and successful alumni network also contributes to upholding our reputation as a world-class nursing institution. I’m grateful for our alumni’s enthusiastic support for the recently held CUHK Homecoming Day (see recap below). I encourage current students and recent graduates to actively participate in future alumni events to create greater synergy that will propel the long-term strategic growth of our education and research. Let’s continue to inspire and support one another as to reach new heights in the coming year!
