Excitement has been in the air since the start of this summer! Firstly, our research excellence continues to shine globally through recent achievements. Prof. Helen CHAN has officially been inducted into Sigma Nursing’s International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame; Prof. Connie CHONG and I have also earned our team's second international award at the Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival for our mental healthcare invention, Pai.ACT™. While we take pride in our strengths, we also cherish opportunities to engage with international scholars for continued growth. We were delighted to welcome Prof. Linda JOHNSTON from the University of Toronto (Canada) for her second visit since last year, as well as delegates from Prince of Songkla University (Thailand), to elevate our excellence and foster potential collaboration in research and education. We also offered a variety of summer activities for current and prospective students. Through our PhD Summer Workshop and involvement in the Summer Institute (hosted by CUHK Office of Academic Links), local and international talents gained essential insights into future studies with us. In addition, there was a series of inbound and outbound summer exchanges with institutions in mainland China and Taiwan, featuring enriching schedules filled with cross-cultural and experiential learning opportunities. Notably, our alumna, Ms. Krystal SO, was recently in the media spotlight for her humanitarian efforts with Médecins Sans Frontières in Gaza. Her commendable work, along with our student’s recent participation in a humanitarian relief programme in Senegal, exemplifies the positive impact we strive to make. Let’s create more inspiring stories and motivate each other to improve ourselves and the world for the better!
