As we have returned to our routines after the Chinese New Year holiday, I hope to extend my best wishes to you all for an enjoyable and successful new year of the Rabbit. In addition, I’d like to share with you several School developments in this vibrant year. The School had a challenging yet rewarding year of 2022. Our teachers and students have developed gratifying flexibility and resilience while navigating through in-person, online and hybrid modes of delivery. In addition to overcoming pandemic-imposed challenges in teaching and learning, we also successfully achieved new heights in global rankings and research funding, living up to our reputation as a world-class nursing institution that excels in both education and research. We intend to carry forward and accelerate this momentum over 2023 and beyond. Now that social distancing restrictions and quarantine requirements have been lifted, I’m excited to see the return of diverse in-person exchange and networking activities. While complementary hybrid international events are here to stay, the in-person exposures remain a highly effective way to advance international professional competence and development. I encourage our students and staff to keep an eye out for opportunities to exchange and collaborate with scholars and visitors worldwide in 2023. In parallel with educational endeavours, the School strives to optimise research outputs and innovations. Apart from strengthening research collaborations with local and international partners, we have been investing additional resources and manpower, such as postdoctoral fellows and research associates, to support our research activities. Global recruitment of professoriate staff continues to be a key strategy in strengthening our faculty profile and reputation globally. I cordially invite interested academics and researchers worldwide to join our School. This will surely be a reciprocal experience offering both individuals and the School a valuable opportunity for research capacity building and global leadership development. Here's to a brighter year for us to continue seizing new opportunities and creating exciting moments to feel proud of!
