Biography

Professor Ankie Cheung is an Assistant Professor of the Nethersole School of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her BNurs (1st Hons), MPhil and PhD degrees from the School of Nursing, The University of Hong Kong. Her current research focuses on child and adolescent health, survivorship care and symptom management.

Professor Cheung is particularly interested in developing digital health interventions with user-centred design to improve health-related quality of life and psychosocial care for children and adolescents and their caregivers, especially for those with chronic health conditions, paediatric oncology and those from low-income families.

Recently, Professor Cheung has accomplished several trials to improve the physical and psychological well-being among paediatric cancer survivors and children of low-income families. The findings have been published in international refereed journals, such as JAMA Network Open, Journal of Clinical Nursing and Psycho-oncology. She aims at working towards supporting and empowering the health and well-being of children and their caregivers, in order to foster the development of a holistic survivorship care plan for Chinese paediatric oncology population as a whole.
