Hi, I am Angel, a Bachelor of Nursing Year 1 student. I am glad to be chosen as one of the student ambassadors this year! Nursing is where my passion lies and that is why I would like to devote myself more to the nursing profession aside from my regular studies at CUHK. Being a student ambassador of the Nethersole School of Nursing not only enables me to be involved in more nursing-related activities which would increase my exposure to this profession, but surely also gives me the chance to promote nursing education to the public on behalf of our School and I am thrilled and proud to do so. I look forward to sharing my experience with you all in the coming future. See you at CUHK!

HO Ka Yan, Karis

I am a Year 3 student in the Bachelor of Nursing Programme. I enjoy setting challenging goals for myself. Being a nurse is not as simple as I thought before studying nursing and having the opportunities to practice usual and bedside care for patients during clinical placement. It encourages me to keep learning to equip myself with more healthcare knowledge.

I am looking forward to sharing my experience with secondary school students so that more students would find nursing a fascinating profession. I am pleased to become one of the student ambassadors of our School. Hope you will become one of us in the future! We need you!

LAI Hiu Kwan, Queenie

What a pleasure to be a student ambassador! My past 3 years in the School were full of joy and laughter with my “o-mates” and “jong yuen”. With them, I explored many possibilities in CUHK like being the President of the Nursing Society in Year 1 and organising the Orientation Camp as Big Group Leader in Year 2. My experience in serving nursing students on campus as well as organising community services to provide basic health care to the underprivileged has trained me to be a person with confidence, compassion and kindness. Thanks to our School for providing us with a good learning environment so as to prepare us for the challenges in our future career.

Stepping into my 4th year in CUHK Nursing, I wish to promote the nursing profession to the general public and our programme to potential nursing students as a student ambassador.

Hello, I am Natalie. It is my great pleasure to be a student ambassador of the Nethersole School of Nursing. I hold a belief that every older adult has unique values and deserves a meaningful later life. The gerontology programme at CUHK has equipped me with practical knowledge and skills for serving the older adults. CHEUNG Ki Chung, Ryan

It is my honour to be one of the student ambassadors of the Nethersole School of Nursing. The School has provided us with an ideal learning environment and a variety of activities, including field trips, which really have broadened my horizons in aged care services and enabled me to gain a better insight into ageing. In parallel, I am also the President of the 6th Gerontology Society. I am willing to take responsibility for promoting our School and raising public awareness of aged care in the community.

LI Sze Wai, Anson

Hello! I am Anson, a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology Year 2 student. It is always meaningful to serve people especially the older generation in our community. Due to population ageing, it is time for us to review the strengths and needs of the older adults and foresee the possible development of the “silver hair market”.

Thus, it is my great pleasure to be one of the student ambassadors. This is a valuable opportunity to enhance my communication and coordination skills which have been acquired in the previous learning experience. More importantly, it is a platform for us to promote and share what we have experienced in these two years as a gerontology student, for instance, the student exchange programme and practicum in aged care settings. I hope these could help the public to have a better understanding of the older adults and make our society more age-friendly.

TAM Ka Yi, Sara

Hi everyone, I am Sara. It is my pleasure to be chosen as a student ambassador to promote the School and the aged care profession to the community. I am interested in participating in various kinds of activities and communicating with others. As a student ambassador, I have chances to represent the School in a variety of events and mentor younger students. This role also provides me with great opportunities to strengthen my interpersonal skills. Without a doubt, being a student ambassador is a precious experience in learning and in contributing to the School!

YING Hiu Lam, Blue

I am Blue, a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology Year 2 student. I enjoy doing sports and chatting with friends. I think I am an optimistic and talkative person. When I was in Year 1, I had little knowledge of CUHK and the BScG programme, and did not know much about ageing and gerontology. However, after becoming a student ambassador, I got more chances to meet and communicate with older adults, exchange views and ideas with aged care professionals. Such experiences have also broadened my horizons, motivating me to become a physical therapist to better help the needy especially the older adults. Thanks to the Student Ambassador Programme for giving me the opportunities to challenge myself and making a difference in my university life.
